Family name on contribution form

I have set up a family profile with both spouses as individual profile members, but contributing to the same envelope number. Now only a single name appears on the deposit slip and on the tax receipt (the first name entered in the profile). Is there an easy way to get both spouses names to appear on both the tax receipt and on the bank deposit slip? Thanks in advance....bill

They will never both appear on the bank deposit slip, in reality, there is no need for both to appear, as it is only a record of what checks went to the bank. In many cases, you'll have a wife write a check against her account, but the husband's name shows up in on the bank slip, the reason, his is the first record in the families set of records, and is listed as DirSeqNo of 1 in the personal profiles. What we use it for is to verify that the amount listed on the check was indeed entered in the system, then we send it along in lieu of a adding machine tape, or written check entries on the actual deposit slip. All it shows is the total checks and cash.
The way you have the spouses setup as indviidual profiles is totally correct, however, are they listed as directory seq numbers 1 & 2, and do they both show the same envelope number on their personal profiles ?? That should be all that is needed, as there are no other settings for reports.

I understand the way it is set up - I have the spouse as the second tributor to the same envelope number. I guess I could fool the system by having three profiles set up 1 for both & then two separate ones for each of the spouses. This may cause me other questions. The only area that some people may push for having both names is on the tax donation receipt. If both contribute & they want to split the tax reciept, then both names should appear on the tax receipt. My thinking is that PowerChurch would then recommend separate contribution envelope numbers.

I really don't understand what you mean by 'fooling the system'. If the system is setup correctly, that is:
Family Mailing Profile
then Personal Profile - DirSeq# 1 - Husband - John Smith
then Personal Profile - DirSeq#2 - Spouse - Mary Smith
then Child - DirSeq#3 -
then Child - DirSeq#4
The Contribtuions statement (or tax report as you call it) will show John & Mary Smith.
If, however, the husband and wife ARE NOT setup as 1 & 2 in their Director Seq Number, like this:
Family Mailing Profile
then Personal Profile - DirSeq# 1 - Husband - John Smith - Env #999
then Child - DirSeq#2
then Personal Profile - DirSeq#3 - Spouse - Mary Smith - Evn #999
then Child - DirSeq#4 -
then Child - DirSeq#5
you will ONLY see Mr John Smith & Family on the statement. As I said, the name on the bank deposit slip really doesn't matter as the only people who will see it are your counters, and the bank.

So .. I take it that they were not in the correct sequence number order ?? Glad to hear you got that fixed.
