Budget Envelope labels. Two questions

I just printed our budget box labels for handing them out at our congregational meeting. I've always printed them at home on a inkjet printer. Since networking, I have to do it at the office. I use a laserjet, HP 2100M with laser 2 column labels, 20 per sheet. I select all the correct parameters and print.
It seems like the printing is too high on the label. At times the member's name actually is just a hair above the edge. These are Avery labels, so I trust them to be right on. Is there a way I can adjust the printing down a notch?
Second question:
I had an bad time with the label sheets in the drawer of the printer. It jammed on me a couple times and fed two sheets at once a few times. I ended up opening up the front flipdown and hand fed them one sheet at a time. This worked fine but is there a better way for me to have done these labels on this laserjet?
