Divorced couples and check reader

We have a couple that divorced last year and we deleted her name from Powerchurch. The problem is they have recently been coming to church together. She wrote a check but the Check Reader pulled up his name and gave him the contribution. His name is not on her checks. How do we change the check reader to her name and not his. We are going to keep them seperate in PowerChurch while they are not married.

She would need to be set up with her own envelope number. When you scan her check, select her envelope number instead of his.

What I find interesting is that the check reader pulled up HIS name. That usually means that the account number on the check was the one saved for the old envelope number.

Could it be that she's writing checks on his account, or that she kept the original checking account ??

I suspect that she kept the checking account, and that any contributions made under his name were cash. In which case, Zorak's advice will take care of that problem.

He had one contribution paid by check in January when they were still together. I am assuming she had his name removed from the checks but still has the same account. I'm not really sure what happened.

Next time you scan a check of hers, point it to her own envelope number before saving the contribution. This will change the relation in the database and she will come up from now on when scanning that check.
