We want to start emailing offering statements. I would like to send out an email to all the contributors that would receive a statement, that does not include the statement, to verify that addresses are correct and to find out if all those that have email addresses really want to receive their statement in this manner. I have not been able to find a way to send out an email to contributors without sending the statement. Is there an easy way to do this?

New Information. I had tried to send a statement with the dates from 01/01/08 to 01/01/08 so there would be no offering information in case the address was wrong but it did not seem to go thru. I just checked my email and it has finally shown up with a blank statement. Is this a possible way to do this and will it send a statement to every one of the contributors?

The way to do this is: Membership/Personal Profiles/Send email message to a group.
That will send a message to anyone with an email address. Thats the way I've done it but alas, last time it quite every time after 50 emails (those people got real sick of my testings). See my post in General Questions section.

Thanks John.
I have found a way to send the statement with no data in it by selecting the date to be between 01/01/2008 and 01/01/2008 then checking the box "Print statements for people with no contributions". This will then only send to the list of people with envelope numbers and include a blank offering statement to verify that the person getting the email is getting their statement and not someone elses.
Have you come up with a way to verify that the email is getting to the person you expect it to go to? Do you have everyone reply to the email so you know that there are no mistakes with addresses being tied to the wrong profile? I would not want to be sending an offering statement to the wrong person. This is the main issue that has prevented me from even starting to implement the process.

Hi, first of all I thought that the option "Print statements for people with no contributions" meant to INCLUDE those with no contribs as well as those with. Maybe I need to learn something more.
For your second ??, I do NOT ask anyone to reply. I've never had anyone say to me that they got someone else's statement.

The reason for using that option is so that everyone with a current envelope number will get emailed to even if they have not made a contribution during the period selected. We do Have some contributors that may just make a year end contribution and non during the rest of the year.
I want to send out statements with no contributions on so that if there is a mistake there will be no information sent that should not be seen. Because I am selecting a date range with no contributions in it that optoin must be check or no statements get sent at all.
