Change to pledges to different contributor

How would I change a contribution from one person's pledge to another person's pledge?

For example:

Adam has pledged $1000 per month to a building project. Several months into the pledge Adam's financial situation changed and Eve committed to fulfilling part of Adam's pledge in Adam's name.
So - Eve has contributions that are currently not applied to a pledge.
Adam has contributions that only fulfill half of his pledge and has requested that I 'fix' this.

PS - they are not part of the same household.

Help!

I'm assuming that Eve still wants tax credit for her giving, but just wants his pledge considered fulfilled. There's not going to be a way to apply Eve's contributions to Adam's pledge directly. I blame the snake. However, what you can do is adjust Adam's pledge start balance by the amount of Eve's generosity.

Just go to Contributions -> Maintain Pledges -> Locate "Adam" -> Click on the appropriate pledge -> Click "Change" -> enter amount into Pledge Start Balance field.

It's kind of a hack, but it'll do what you want - show is pledge as being fulfilled on his pledge statement - but still allow Eve to get a contribution statement showing her giving.
