Hi There,

I need to compile the number of "Giving Units" for the past three years (separately). This would include not only people who have pledged, but people who are non-pledgers and friends of the church who have given sporadically. Basically anyone who would receive a statement at the end of the year.

What is the best report to run to determine this number?

If you use the Selected Contributor report in Contributions, you have a lot of control over which contributors to include.

If you choose to "Send to Disk File" before running the report, you can use the word count tool in MS Word to count the number of lines in the report, and hence, the number of contributors.

->Tools
---->Word Count

Look at the number of lines.

Actually, I believe the Contribution Range Report will be able to give you that data in one fell swoop. It'll show you how many people gave in ranges of amounts, and the final total of givers. As long as you've assigned them an envelope number, they will be chosen for this report.

What we used to do is move former members to an envelope number in the 2000 range to save that data, and just do reports on the range from 1 to 1000, which you can do in this report.

If you don't need the names and addresses, this is the easiest way.
