Bank Checks

When people pay their contributions through a bank; the check numbers on the bank checks are generally too long for the check reader. I get several checks that the reader pulls up the wrong person.

Is this an issue that will be addressed in version 11...or is it an issue with the check reader itself?

Version 11 has been updated with a 20 digit contribution check number field

The problem really isn't the length of the check number, but when people pay through an online service and bank mails you a check, it is not really coming from your members account. It is coming from the bank's checking account. The MICR account numbers on the bottom of the check will be the same for all members that use that bank.

There is really not going to be a way to match to a contributor for these checks.
