posted contribution does not add up to contribution statement for individuals! Any ideas or reasons why this is? and Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Could you be more specific?

Are you saying that you run the report to get the total contributions in a fund, then run the contribution statements and total them up separately ??

OK ... if envelope 230 contributed $5,000, and it was posted properly to the building fund (say Fund 10), as long as the beginning date is 01/01/2009 and ending 12/31/2009 for the report, the amounts should appear properly.

This is assuming that it was not posted to a different contribution fund, or to a different envelope by accident.

Are other contributor's statements correct ?? Or is this the only one having the problem ?? Also, are you using the setting for contribution details to be the same as the dates of the report (begin & end date) ??

Now, I'm going to assume something here. If you're talking about the amounts being properly shown in the fund, but not being credited against a PLEDGE, then what happened was that the amounts when entered were not assigned to the pledge. You can go into the Maintain Pledges module, select the pledge in question, and click on the find contributions button.

Again, if there is anything here I'm assuming incorrectly, please let us know.

i will double check the env. number cos i've made that mistake before, that why i don't post contributions until i am fully done and sure the numbers and env. numbers are accurate! Thanks for your input! I will double check! and repond back it i have any other questions!

One quick question tho!

Do i need to use the pledge module in connection with contribution reporting? or contribution module!

Pledge maintenance is an integral part of the Contributions module. You need only use it if you have your members pledge their support for the church every year, or for special times, such as a building fund drive.

If you have no need to use it, you don't need to.
