CO Statements don't print Summary info correctlly

Post by Jayne »

I am testing the printing of Contribution Statements. When I print "daily amounts" I seem to get correct information on the report. When I use the same envelope number, and same criteria, but select "summary", no funds are reported on and the amount is zero. When I use the same envelope number and same criteria, but select 'totals only", the full amount of the contribution is reported. When I check the individual's record using the "view posted data" feature, all the information is there and appears correct. I have been unable to idently a pattern as to who is excluded and who is included.

I also notice two other things that may be related:
1> the personal status (in CO statement dialog box) is grey (as opposed to black), although I am able to clear and select using the check boxes.
2> the contribution range report is reporting on only 82 of our members - there should be 255. The total contributed shows $82K when it should show $315K.

Hopefully this will give you enough information to suggest a solution.

OK ... what version of Powerchurch are you using, and have you installed the latest Maintenance Release.
Are you selecting everyone under personal status, or only subgroups? Are the beginning and end dates correct? Are there any other selection criteria or display criteria being selected in one type of report and not in another.

I don't think that the 'grey' status would have anything to do with this. As you say, you can change the checkboxes without a problem. Also, are you sure that all the 'members' have personal status codes of 'member' ??

We are using Powerchurch 10.4 and Iv'e downloaded the latest maintenance release. We purchased PC in March 2009. Our operating system is Vista.

I ran the tests several times over several days, with all criteria the same.

i'm thinking I may have to reinstall the program. Can I uninstall and then reinstall without losing data?

This doesn't sound like a bad install problem. Is the summary report issue happening for certain envelope numbers, or all of them ??

However you can remove the program by using the Vista Control Panel's program applet. I don't have a Vista system right now, so I can't verify the name, but in XP it was Install/Remove Programs.

However, I would do a backup of the entire database before you do this. The removal will not delete the Data directory, but it would be a good idea to back up anyway.

Also, if there were any other computers using the program, it would be a good idea to check the network drive mapping, and re-run the NetSetup10 program on those machines.

I am not able to identlfy which envelope numbers are not included in the reports.

I notice that Vista in it's "problems file folder' included three PC reports that were not installed properly, with the following messages (atttached). Could this be relevant; is is this a compatibility problem??

I see two things here.

1. You have at least two different Maintenance Releases sitting in your download directory. The PCP10MR(1).EXE tells me that.
2. It seems that Vista may not have allowed the MR to install.

I'd do two things:

1. Delete all the copies of the MR in your download directory, and then download a new copy.
2. Run the MR and watch to see if Vista throws up any errors. If not, check the problem file to see if any new ones were added.

Its not a VIsta compatibility problem as PC+ has been thoroughly tested on Vista. It may have more to due with Vista's added security. I'd make sure that I have full Admin permissions before I reinstalled the MR.
