Designated Giving Report

So...this is what I did...
Monday I created: Contrib. Fund # 600 for Honors:Sanct. & Designated Giving to Mr/Mrs
I donated $10 to test it out. Ran reports & all was well & good until I thought...

Today I remembered that yesterday I condensed my Contrib. Funds & created:
Fund #115 Hnr/Mem:Sanct.

Since I won't be using the #600 & mine is the only donation posted to it;I entered a Contribution for the correct date & reversed the Monday entry from #600 to #115 & updated Contributions only.
My Posted Contrib. report is correct.

My Designated Giving is not. It does not reflect the $-10.00, it just added $+10.00
So, I reversed the last entry to zero it out.
Again my Posted C report is correct & my Desig G is not...now it shows $+30 with no negatives reflecting reversals.

I went to Maintain List of Desig & looked at the history...no negatives. I tried to delete it, but it would not delete. I Reindexed, but nothing changed. I was thinking maybe I should enter the Contrib and post it to update Accounting...then I thought I should quit thinking and ask the experts.
"What can I try next?"
Thank you~Kristi

Unfortunately, what you should have done from the beginning was just merge 600 to 115. This saves a lot of headaches ;)

That said, I suspect the problem was the same that I noticed here. When you reverse the contribution using the Reverse button in the Modify Posted Contributions module, you MUST go into the Modify UNPosted Contributions module to select the proper Designated code on the contribution. Unless this is currently done, the Designated Gifts table will not be properly updated.

Now I'm not sure if that was the way it was originally planned for it to work. I suspect something got lost between the design and coding areas, and it wasn't caught in the user Beta testing.

Thank you Neil.
I respectfully disagree with you, but what I should have FIRST was "leave it alone!":P

I just re-entered the Contribution as a negative.
I didn't know about a Reverse button. I just found it in the View Posted Contrib.; but I can not find a module that says Modify Posted Contributions. I do have Modify Unposted.

I've only had version11 a few days & have not found all the improvements yet.

My bad, it is View Posted Contributions, sorry about that .
