Non Cash/In Kind Donations

Is there an update planned to address a way to track Non Cash contributions in PowerChurch. We would like to have a convenient way to track ALL costs associated with VBS. Example: for our Vacation Bible School many congregants will donate items to be used for VBS as their way of contributing because they cannot help out. Thank you.

There is not a plan to update that functionality currently. With donated items not being recorded as income or deposited in the bank, and the IRS not wanting you to include them on the person's Contribution Statement with a dollar amount assigned, there really isn't anything to record on the Contributions side of the software. PowerChurch doesn't have general letter-writing functionality to write the thank you letter for the gift of X.
I will happily document a suggestion for however you envision this updated functionality to work if you would like to take some time and spell it out here. Others are welcome to chime in as well! As a suggested feature, it comes up a lot, but I think in most cases, people want to report it as an amount given on the Contribution Statement and the IRS says not to do that.

My suggestion for this is just to maintain a spreadsheet for such donations, to include name, address, and cost of donation. This way you do have some history to refer to.
A better way is for the congregants to sign up to cover items that the church has already paid for. If they're going to buy it anyway, let the funds come through the system, thus you not only see what the costs are, but you also give credit to the donor on the Contribution Statement.
