I am new user. Due to some initial setup errors, I had to restart the accounting setup last week. The re-entered check transactions are all showing up on the check register, and in the fund accounting reports. However, the posted contributions from January 1 until end of February (which were not deleted during the setup process) are not showing up in either place. They are viewable under contribution reports. What am I doing wrong?

You're doing nothing wrong, when you restart Accounting, your Contributions data is not touched, as its part of the database is not touched. The only connection to Funds Accounting is when you post, it creates transactions that are posted in the Funds Accounting Unposted Transactions queue. Unfortunately, once you post from Contributions, there is no way to recreate those Deposit transactions except manually in Funds Accounting.

Since you restarted accounting, you should have also entered all outstanding deposits. If you did, and you DIDN'T create a starting balance in the Income accounts at the same time, then you're going to have to create transactions to enter starting balances.

If you didn't create the deposits, then you're going to have to create Deposit transactions in Funds Accounting.

Let us know where you're at in this, and then we can point you to what to do next.

Since my posting, I looked a little further back at the old postings and found someone with the same problem. Just had to enter the total deposits for each fund under fund accouting transactions, and after posting they are now showing up in the check register and the accounting reports.
