Alphabetize Designations

Is there any way to make the designations alphabetize when pulling them up on the drop-down menu within a contribution entry and in reports? Right now they show up as I entered them when I set them up in the Contributions > Setup > Maintain List of Designations menu.

Within contribution entry, when you are entering the fund number, if you click on the magnifying glass (or type F2) and bring up the menu, you can click on the word "Description" at the top, and the list will sort alphabetically (or two clicks for reverse alphabetically).

Thanks, John! Actually, it is the designations rather than the fund numbers that are the issue... There doesn't seem to be the magnifying glass or F2 function for that. I am wondering why it doesn't auto-sort by alpha or numerical order - all other lists seem to do so.

The reason for this is that this list is a Drop Down selection list control, not a locate type of screen control as seen when you click the magnifying glass or press the F2. These will display in the order they were entered in the Maintain List of Designations function.

You may want to email wishlist@powerchurch.com with a request that they look at a way to set the order of these appearing in that drop-down.

It was an oversight. We'll get this corrected in the next Maintenance Release.

What reports is this seen out of alphabetical order?

Is that the only place? I see the Check Reader screen does it. I did not find a report with them out of order.

The only other place I found is the Designated Contributions report, there is a list there, but not a drop down.

Sorry for the delay in answering this! The designated contributions report was printing in the order of entry, but it seems to be alphabetizing now. Hurray on the fix with the next maintenance release!
