I have been asked to look into the feasibility and cost of electronic giving for our church. I have looked at Vanco, but rather than reinventing the wheel I am sure there are others that have done this and would have some suggestions on how to go about this and the general costs involved. Pros and cons, best and worst experiences, etc. This needs to make sense so that any costs would be more than offset by increased giving. What is the advantage to this verses someone with electronic banking just having a check sent to the church at regular intervals?

No, not for our members. We have a large college student population, and hence, a large alumni that live all over the country and world-wide who want to give to our college ministry.

However, after receiving a few gifts and paying the 3.5% fee, or whatever, we decided to make a link on our website about giving that encourages people to send us checks or electronic checks.
