Hi all,
just ran into something that I didn't notice before, so I'm not sure if its a bug, or an oversight.
My contributions entry person entered a check against the wrong envelope number. They came to me, so I went and did the negative entry on the check, then reentered under the correct envelope number. The church does enter the check number also.
When the Deposit Slip printed it showed the new entry, as well as the bad entry along with the reversing entry on the Deposit Slip. Did we do something wrong, or this an oversight, or did a bug creep in ??
Thanks!!

Re: Question on: Deposit Slip Report
It may not be considered a bug that it shows negatives (although it doesn't make sense that it would) because if you have a mistake and the contributions are still unposted you can simply change the contribution in the Modify Unposted Contributions screen rather than trying to reverse the contribution. (That is how you correct posted contributions)
It does still create an issue if you had posted it previously and just now noticed the current week's deposit would still show the negative, but since you can exclude specific days from the deposit slip they wouldn't show up.
So while it doesn't make sense that negatives are showing it doesn't seem like it is considered a bug since the program has methods to allow you to exclude the negatives from the report

True ... I totally forgot about being able to go into Modify Unposted Transactions when using the Contributions Data Entry account.Zero wrote:It may not be considered a bug that it shows negatives (although it doesn't make sense that it would) because if you have a mistake and the contributions are still unposted you can simply change the contribution in the Modify Unposted Contributions screen rather than trying to reverse the contribution. OK ... I guess I need to give myself some remedial training
