Scanners and OCR Software

Has anyone used a scanner with or without OCR Software to scan Envelopes for inputing contributions?
I would not mind having to input the amount, if the proper envelope number was recognized.
Recommendations for scanners would be appreciated

It isn't possible to scan into the envelope number field. The scanner functionality was only added in Attendance and now Check In.

But the MICR check scanner does it. Couldn't that software be "cloned" to handle a scanner?

That's something to send to
wishlist@powerchurch.com, for consideration in future versions of the program.
It is not possible to do bar code scanning or OCR image scanning in the Enter Contributions screen currently.
