import/export contributions

Post by jrdta1010@yahoo.com »

Hi there, we're making some accounting changes and have started fresh with the acounts payable/receivable section of powerchurch. We installed powerchurch on a new computer, made some changes to the table of accounts and then backed up the old copy of powerchurch so that we could restore the list of members and the contributions only. However, it only backs up and restores everything. At this point, I think I need to export this data into a CSV file so that I can import it into the new installation of powerchurch. I can't find an option that allows me to export it into a CSV file. Any suggestions on how to do this or an alternative method for copying the contributions from one installation of powerchurch to another?

You can select which files you want to backup in the second window that is displayed in the backup process. When you select Utilities > Backup & Restore Files > Backup Files. The window you are now in has many choices as to which area of PC to backup. Then when you restore that backup only the files that you have selected in the backup will be restored to the new installation.

Specifically, you want to backup the old installation using the Contributions, Mailing Lists & Profiles selection from the backup dialogue.

Then RESTORE using the backup file created there. You will ONLY restore those areas, nothing in Accounting will be touched.
