Converging envelopes
We have a few couples who have two envelope numbers. Is there a way to combine the two?? Thanks - Elida
Re: Converging envelopes
Use the built-in renumbering function under Contributions, just set the number of Person B to the number of Person A. All the history will be combined.elidajacobs wrote:We have a few couples who have two envelope numbers. Is there a way to combine the two?? Thanks - Elida

Also along with this can ou delete or inactivate the number that will not be used anymore for that person???
Re: Converging envelopes
Does it automatically ... the new number is associated with both profiles, the old number is now 'open' for reuse.elidajacobs wrote:Also along with this can ou delete or inactivate the number that will not be used anymore for that person???

Re: Converging envelopes
Thank you - but when I do the reassign nmuber thing a message comes up that that number is used by another power church person.......?????doing something wrong???
Re: Converging envelopes
Is the person you're trying to reassign the number to, under the same Mailing List Profile as the person with the number ??elidajacobs wrote:Thank you - but when I do the reassign nmuber thing a message comes up that that number is used by another power church person.......?????doing something wrong???
Example:
Sara Jones has 86, John Jones has 88.
Sara and John are under the same Mailing List Profle: Mr & Mrs John Jones. You should not see an informational message.
However, if Sara is under her OWN mailing list profile : Mrs. Sara Jones, and John is under his own, Mr. John Jones. You'll get the message. You need to move Sara under John's Mailing List profile (or vice versa).
You can then reassign the number without a problem. I just tested this under 11.1; I don't believe this functionality was changed in 11.5.

Re: Converging envelopes
I have just done this for a married couple. All the contributions are now showing up on the combined envelope number but the "Pledge Summary" box is not reflecting the actual contributions.
In the Fund Summary box, the Pledges given accurately shows $4300, but in the Pledge Summary box, it only show $2100, which is the amount of the original contributions for the envelope that I merged the numbers into.
In the Funds Summary box - in the Pledges Summary box
Original # 7550 - pledges - $2,200 no data, because the pledge was not submitted here
# 7551 - pledges - $2,100 Actual Pledges - $2,100
Updated #7551 - Pledges - $4,300 Actual Pledges - $2,100 (shouldn't it be $4,300?)

Re: Converging envelopes
I'm fairly sure because the donations from envelope 7550 were not originally against a Pledge, they will not automatically be assigned against a pledge in the merged envelope. That said you can go into the Contributions Menu -> Pledges -> Maintain Pledges function. Bring up the envelope 7551, then click on the Search for Contributions button to find those donations and assign them to the pledge.bjwhitson wrote:I have just done this for a married couple. Re: Converging envelopes
The "Search for Contributions..." option did the trick. I knew it was there, but since I don't use it often, I tend to forget.
