Contribution reports

I am most interested in being able to print the weekly unposted contribution reports in alphabetical order rather than order entry or envelope number. When the money pile does not equal the cotributions entered, we have to find out why. It takes extra time since the report is printed in envelope order. I think a great enhancement would be to have the option to print in ABC order or envelope order WITHOUT having to make a custom report.

Thanks again for your consideration.

Duly noted. This will be passed to program development.

I third that motion!

Since I've been using the check reader to enter contributions, it has been a hassle to reconcile the unposted contributions.

I did create a custom report, but don't like the format and really don't like the GUI to manipulate the format.

SUGGESTION: It would be nice to have the existing (standard) report formats available as templates in the custom side.

My $.07 worth,
Jeff

Currently, then built in reports in PowerChurch are designed and preformatted with Crystal Reports. For us to allow the end user (you) to be able to edit those reports in any way, fonts, margins, appearance, we would have to include a Crystal Reports license with every single copy of PowerChurch. That would dramatically increase the price of the software, and considering one of the great features of PowerChurch is its price. This is probably not a step most of our users would tolerate.

But your suggestions will be noted.

As you can see there is some interest in having reports available in this fashion. Would might cost be? Is there any other way to get the reports?

If we were to include a license of Crystal Reports to enable users to edit existing reports, it would double the cost of the software for a *single user.* If you have more than one user, Crystal Reports would require a license for each user. That would make it prohibitively expensive for the majority of our users. PowerChurch is licensed to the church, not by user, to maintain maximum flexibility for you.

As Jeff has mentioned, you can get the information through a custom report, but you'd wanted a way other than that. If you think the custom reports module is difficult, I can promise you don't want to have to fool with Crystal Reports.

This information has been passed to program development, and it's a good idea. Hopefully, it's something they can incorporate.

Thanks.

Could the standard report formats be recreated by Powerchurch folk in a Visual FoxPro format that could be called in the report designer?

I would like to be able to edit these standard reports also.

Unposted contribution reports in ABC order urgently needed!

As you can see from the number of replies to this original question, there is plenty of interest in having the unposted weekly contributions being able to print a report in ABC order. Anyone who has the task of entering weekly contributions knows things don't always go smoothly with data entry and mistakes can be made. Finding those errors can be quite time consuming and often frustatin. It is much easier to find those pesky errors when the reports can be made available in ABC order. I know that there have been replies that this is not possible per tech support. However........

I think it is of upmost importance for these reports to be available in the new version which I see is in beta testing. Please do all you can to make this available in the new version. As an old navy veteran's captain once said, "I don't want excuses, I want results."

I will be the first person to buy the new version IF you can get reports done as detailed above. You have a great program, let's make it even better!!!!!

Thanks again!!

For anyone reading this thread, this has been changed in version 9. You will be able to print unposted contributions in alphabetical order.

If you save your report to Excel, you can sort the information in alphabetical order. It only takes a few extra minutes.

Summary by Fund Report

Hello Everyone,

It sure would be nice if the unposted contrbution report would list a summary of the various contribution funds that were entered by USER.

We have over 100 contribution funds, and it is very labor intensive to determine which input to which fund is in error.

Tom, how often do you post your contributions ?? I would assume that if you do it weekly, you would know who did the entry for the week. Even so, the report does have the capability to pull data by the date entered, as well as pulling it by the user who entered it.

I guess a summary would help, but you should be able to pull that using the funds report. Granted, you won't know who entered it, but you should know who was doing the data entry by the date selected on that report.
