Help printing with PDF printer in Custom Reports

Post by rschlosser »

Hello,
I created a custom report in the record keeping module. I am trying to print the report
in landscape, but nothing seems to work, though I have set all printer parameters, etc., to
"landscape."

I installed a PDF printer to try to save the docs to PDF format to print. However,
the PDF printer shows up in my system as an installed printer, but Powerchurch
does not pull it up as a printer on the print menu (choose a printer). I cannot
get the program to "find" the PDF printer, even if I put in the IP address (my computer IP?),
etc.

I am running Powerchurch Online with a Mac OSX 10.8.3.

Any suggestions?
Thank you!

There is a printer listed in the new IDS Client called "Preview PDF". Printing to that will just open a PDF file on your screen that you can then save to whatever location you choose.

When you print anything from PowerChurch Online what is happening behind the scenes is a PDF is created, downloaded to your computer, then printed. The Preview PDF option just opens that PDF instead of printing it directly.

I have seen printing to a PDF printer cause problems for people in PowerChurch Online, since it is already creating a PDF file, then telling that PDF file to print to a PDF printer, which will create a new PDF file. It's better just to use the Preview PDF option.

Thank you! *happy dance*
I loaded the new client and everything works perfectly. This new client just
saved me hours of headache!

Thanks to all who work so hard to keep everything updated and working smoothly!
