Income & Expense Statement Additional Column

Post by Buffalofoodshelf1 »

Can a column be added to an I&E report showing the percent difference between current and budget?

There are "Current Budget Difference" and "Current Budget Percent" options in the columns 2-9 drop down lists.

Follow-up question. Can custom columns be added?

There are 17 options within the dropdowns that Zorak mentioned; if those don't have what you're looking for you may need to consider creating a Custom Report.

We have a new board member asking for something that isn't included in the dropdowns. I guess I'll figure out how to do custom report.

On an Income & Expense report they want to see the YTD Budget Difference percentage.

I added the YTD Budget Difference column but that is a dollar amount, and he wants to see dollar amount and percentage.

How many columns are you using?? There is a YTD Budget Difference and a YTD Budget Percent that can be added.

We are currently using 5 columns

Current Period

Year to Date

Current Budget

Year to Date Budget

YTD Budget Difference

I showed him the report with YTD Budget Percent but that isn't what he wants. I'll see if I can get more clarification.

I appreciate your help.

Well .. you can then add the YTD Diff and Percent, you'll have to print in Landscape, but it will work.

So, YTD Budget Difference and YTD Budget Percent? Doesn't that give me the percent of budget used YTD?

He's looking for YTD Budget Difference divided by YTD Budget

Yes it does ..if the budget is 10000, and you've spent only 1000 then the budget used is only 10% it doesn't show that?

It does, but he says that's not what he is looking for.

I will have to have him clarify as the treasurer and I are both stumped as to what he is asking for.

I appreciate your help and will reach out if I need anything else.

I'm guessing that he's used to looking at a normal business I&E, which does accrual accounting. Powerchurch is a cash basis.
