Simple Texting

Post by cbrown »

I am a new user of PowerChurch Online and found the SimpleTexting interface in the Contributions module. After trying to set it up and failing, I called tech support and found they really don't know anything about it, other than it doesn't work. I suggested they remove it from the menu!

It does work for many users.

From the support log of your call, it appears that you are currently on a free trial with SimpleTexting and they no longer provide access to the API key for software integrations on the free trial accounts.

The only choice I had was a so-called free trial. Clearly the integration is no longer there and should not be promoted as a feature.

The integration is there, you have to have a full paid account for access to that API. They do not offer it as part of the trial packages.

I am confused. Does Power Church (PC) work with SImpletexting (ST) or not. It appears that we cannot test it out without paying for ST. Assuming it does work, what information is PC able to pass to ST (e.g. first / last name, status, dates, etc.). I do not want to have to maintain data in 2 different databases but if I treat PC as the master database and it can send the appropriate info to ST, that's fine.

As was said, the third-party company does not give API access to free accounts. The interface works with PAID accounts. Your issue is with the THIRD-PARTY company, not Powerchurch. I would contact them and ask them directly.
