Saveed report to excel has no extension

Post by CranfordUMC »

When I save a report to an Excel (XLS or XLSX) format, it does not save it with an excel extension. I need to save it to an existing excel file so I can open it. I am running PC online with windows 11 Pro

We have reported this behavior as a bug with the developers of the PowerChurch Online/IDS Client, but it's apparently not something that can be fixed. This is happening because Windows hides file extensions by default. This is a setting you can change in Windows by opening Windows Explorer, then going to View > Show/hide. Check the option to show file extensions.

Otherwise, to leave the default Windows setting, it's an easy workaround. When prompted for the file name, make sure to add the file extension, if it's not already there. If you save one without a file extension, you can right click > Rename it and add the file extension.
