Are folders for version 8 being used by version 10?

Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

Are folders for version 8 being used by version 10?

Post by believnfool »

We recently upgraded from version 8 to version 10. I am wondering if we can remove the version 8 folders from our server or if they are being used by version 10. Thanks.

If you notice, the Powerchurch installation defaults to installing a new version in a new set of directories (folders). Thi s is done to keep the versions separate as there are changes in the database, and many files that would not work across versions.

Once you've converted your data, you can remove the old version of Powerchurch. You should remove version 8 using the Add/Remove Programs application under the Windows Control Panel. You should have a separate entry for Powerchurch 8. This will remove the folders as well as remove Windows registry entries that are no longer valid.

Hope this helps.
