Contribution from deleted profile in 99999

Post by theocl »

Hello,
Using PC+ ver 10.4, from a profile deletion in error, we have a current contribution now allocated to the system envelope 99999.
I cannot appear to transfer that to the correct contributor ( - $ 99999, + $ correct env. #) Is there a way to do this? Must we restore a backup and re-enter subsequent transactions.
Thank you in advance for feedback on this.

This is a follow-up to the above information. To proceed, we have restored a backup; however, the contribution transfer to 99999 occurred because an envelope number was removed in an active personal profile.

This happened even though "Deletion" is not authorized to the user. Strictly speaking of course, no (profile) deletion occurs.

If there is not a way to prevent this action and still allow add/change(passwords/user profiles/contributions), can there be a more explanatory warning message to the user?

The warnings that are shown are as follows:
---------------------------
Delete
---------------------------
Are you sure you want to delete this family?
---------------------------
Yes No
---------------------------
then
---------------------------
Delete
---------------------------
Posted contributions exist for one or more family members.
Are you sure you want to delete this family and all its profiles?
---------------------------
Yes No
---------------------------
then
---------------------------
Delete
---------------------------
Are you sure you want to delete these profiles? Posted contributions for this family will be moved to a shared envelope number and you will not be able to list their contributions separately.
---------------------------
Yes No
---------------------------
At this point, I don't really think more warnings will be much of a deterrent.

Many thanks for your response Zorak.

For some reason in my initial effort to recreate the user's activity, I did not receive those messages, but have now in a later test after your reply.

Clearly reading the messages will be emphasized - perhaps with a "sticky" on the monitor?! :)
