Attendance Conundrum

Post by emellesee »

Okay, here's the problem. We have two morning services on Sundays and each one has a different style of Sunday School program. We want to know the detailed attendance for each worship service and each Sunday School class, but we also want to know the total number of different people who came to church that morning. Our problem is that some people are here during both services. Some are teaching Sunday School during the first service and then coming in to worship during the second. Others are on the worship team and in the sanctuary for both services. We want to record who was where when and I can figure out how to do that, but is there a way to get PowerChurch to look at the attendance for all activities on a date and then total up the individual people who were involved and eliminate the people who participated in more than one event?

:) ML

I'm assuming that worship has its own attendance roster or 'pew pad' setup, and SS would have its own rosters for each class.

FWIW ... all you would have to do is run a standard report twice. One just for worship attendence, and one for Sunday School.

For Example:

Worship would have a separate numbering group (numbers are examples):

200 -- Worship Attendance (header group)
201 -- Sunday 9:00 AM
202 -- Sunday 11:00 AM
203 -- Wednesday 6:00 PM

(and so on)

And Sunday School (along with other educational activities) would have its own

300 -- Sunday School Attendence
310 -- S.S. 9am Group
311 - Pre-K/Kindergarten
312 - 1st Grade
313 - 2nd Grade
314 - 3rd Grade
315 - 4th Grade
316 - 5th Grade
317 - Middle School/Jr High
318 - Senior High
319 - Adult
320 -- S.S. 11 am Group
321 -- 1st grade
(And so on, you can setup your own numbering)

Then for reports, you would select the standard report for attendance, and select activities 310 thru 319 for 9 AM Sunday School.

Then to get the entire S.S. attendance you'd choose 310 thru 229.

You'd do the same for worship.

Does this help you any ??
