Restart Accounting Setup

Post by Odell Holliday »

Due to an incorrect setup by a previous individual, I need to reset the entire accounting module from the ground up. If I do so now, will it affect my exisiting payroll and contribution records for 2008?

I know it will not affect contributions, as that is a completely separate set of databases, with the only connection being a one-way creation of transactions to accounting which then needs to be posted to accounting.

As far as payroll, that's a different issue, and I'm not that familiar with the payroll database tables to know how integrated it is with the FA database tables.

It will leave the posted payroll information, but remove the account numbers from your payroll items. After completing the accounting setup, you will need to go back to maintain item descriptions in payroll and put in the correct GL accounts for each payroll item.

As always make a backup before you restart the accounting just in case.
