In March I entered a deposit that does show up on the Account Activity report but the entry does not show up on the balance sheet report or the income & Expense report. Does this mean that I just forgot to post it and therefore it has since been posted with my April entries or is there some other reason this could happen.
If I did forget to post it and have since closed the month of March, how can I fix this without losing what I have since posted for April?

Maybe someone else has it all figured out. I, however, need to ask you a couple of questions.

What are the account numbers of the ones that show activity?

Do your bank account and income account both show activity?

Did you enter the deposit through Fund Accounting or Contributions?

What date does the account activity show that you entered the transaction?

Thanks.

Still trying to figure this out. In answer to John Meyers questions:

The account numbers for the ones that show activity are 04-4054-000
04-1114-000 and 04-4424-000
We actually have very little activity in this account.
Our bank account did show $40 deposit to our general fund account 01 but our income account for 04 did not show activity.
I entered the deposit through Fund accounting.
The dates for all the activity entered was 3/31/09
Any suggestions as to why the $40 does not show on the Balance report or Income & Expense statement but does show on the acitivity report?

My only thought right now is that you may have accidently typed 01-4054-000 or 01-1114-000 instead of using fund 04.

You can check the account activity in all these accounts:
01-1114-000
01-4054-000

04-1114-000
04-4054-000

and see which fund has the activity in it.

If you split the transactions between two funds, the correction entry will have to reverse exactly the sames funds and accounts or it could get real messy.

Check your balance sheet to see if your assets equal your liability-plus-equity at the bottom for both fund 01 and fund 04. This will let me know if you split the transaction between two funds.
