Text Labels in a Custom Directory

Post by Shelley »

Another directory question. I want our directory to have e-mail address, cell phone numbers, work numbers, anniversaries, and birthdays listed for each member. I would like each bit of this information to have a text label.

Birthday: 07/09
Cell Phone: (***) ***-****

I do not have all of the desired information for each member. Wherever I don't have the information I would like no line and no label to print. I have been unsuccessful at doing this using "Remove line if blank." Help! I can get the expression to not print, but the label prints. I have tried making it a text label and even building it into the expression field, but I still get the label.

Birthday:
Cell Phone:

The best way to do this is to put a "Print When" on the labels.

The Print When settings are found under the Print When tab on the field properties screen.

Set each of them to something like this:

not empty(e_mail)

or

not empty(phone_1)
