Tracking Attendance over 2 services

We have one list of kids who have the option of attending class 1st or 2nd service. They are not consistent, so I don't want to set up a 2nd activity for the second service, but I do want to know which service kids attend.

Is there a custom attendance code (ie 1, or 2 instead of P for present?)

How have you handled these types of situations?

Unfortunately, there's no way to setup a special attendance code. I'm not sure I've seen a question like this come across the forums before.
