New Checking Account

PC is set up with one checking account for general fund operations. I would like to set up an additional checking account for organizations in the church and monitor their activities through PC with their own specific charts of accounts. Thank you for your assistance.

You should set up a new Accounting Fund. (Maintain List of Accounting Funds).

What you are thinking of doing is typical for a Missions Fund, or Church School, for example.

If you are using the same physical checking account as the General Fund, use the same 4-digit major account number.

For exampe, if you have 01-1110-000, set up Accounting Fund 02 and call the checking account 02-1110-000.

If you have a separate bank account, use a different 4-digit number than 1110 in fund 02.
