envelope numbers
Is it possible to change the envelope numbering from individual to family? When we set up Powerchurch, we used individual numbering but now we think family numbering would better suit us. We are new to this and so far we have not entered any contributions.

Re: envelope numbers
Unfortunately, it isn't possible to assign a number on the family record.
It is possible to assign the same number to everyone in the family.

Re: envelope numbers
If the individuals within a household are assigned the same number, will the contribution data be merged?

Re: envelope numbers
Yes, if no else in the family has the envelope number, the contributions to the original envelope will be changed to the new combined envelope.

Re: envelope numbers
Example:
Mr. Contributor is assigned envelope# 150 and has contributed $100.
Mrs. Contributor is assigned envelope# 151 and has contributed $100.
If I change Mrs. Contributors envelope# to 150, will envelope# 150 show a total of $200.00?
or
Do I assign them both a new (unused) envelope#?

Keith,
don't just "change" the envelope number. use the "Reassign an Envelope Number" function. You can reassign an envelope number to an existing one if they are in the same household. then the money will be combined.
