Person in 2 different households

Post by johniac »

I searched for this, but couldn't find that it had already been asked.

Is there a way to attach a person entry to two different households (for
example a child with divorced parents who both belong to the church)?

Thanks! John

The only way to do this is to have two separate profiles, one under each parent. However, we find it easier to list the child under the parent who has primary custody of the child, as that is the location where the child is legally domiciled.

We are experiencing the same issue. The child attends with the dad on the weekend but the mom has custody during the week. We need to communicate with both parents who live separately. Is there a way to revise this?

It would involve some index changes to the database structure to be able to link one personal profile to two separate mailing list profiles. I don't believe such an overhaul is in the cards right away.

In this case, are both parents members ?? If not, you should just list the child under the parent who brings the child with them on Sunday.

There is another way around this, you can put the child with the parent who has custody, but also list the father as one of the parents, along with his phone number in the notes section of the personal profile.
