Cannot email our Prayer Line messages today.

Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

Cannot email our Prayer Line messages today.

Post by John Dykema »

We use Comcast for the internet. When doing our daily emails we are getting an error that we cannot connect to our host, etc. Outlook was not able to send out either.
I called Triton.net, our email server, and he suggested changing the out port from 25 to 2525. Then it worked. However we can't change it in PowerChurch v.10.4. We called in our network guy and he tried various things but came to the conclusion that Comcast was blocking messages from port 25.
Solution: In PC+ he went into File/Preferences/System setup/Email tab and appended the following in the Outgoing email server field: :2525 i.e. mail.triton.net:2525
Now it works every time and we were able to send out the Prayerline emails.
Does v.11 have an option to change the port settings in PC+?
Thanks.

John, you still need to append the port to the SMTP server name as you did above. Since this trick works (and not all need it) it still is the best solution, and since V11 had major changes elsewhere, I figure they thought why mess with something that works ;)

Using PC+ since 1999.
