We are implementing PowerChurch 11. I was importing contributions using a comma delimited file. Everything was going well until the very end when I noticed that I had swapped contributions on two envelope numbers. This was after they were posted.
I tried reversing the contributions and inputing the correct amount to the correct envelope. The totals are now correct but each person's statement has all the corrections and looks terrible.
I am at the end of my rope.
All I need to do is not print the reversals on each persons statement. Or, I suppose I could reverse everything and assign them new numbers.
Any ideas.

Re: reverse contribution problem
When you reverse contributions, make sure you have the same date, check or cash, fund number, etc. and the amount is negative. If the negative entry lines up with the positive entry for the same date, they will not show on the contribution statement.
In version 11, and possibly older versions, click on Contributions / View Posted Contributions, and locate your entry, and click REVERSE. It does all the right things.
All you need to do now is reverse your reversal entries, and then go back and reverse the original entries, and then enter the correct amounts.

Actually, the Reverse button on the View Posted Contributions function is new for v11. In v10 and all previous, you had to enter a new negative contribution as you mentioned above.JohnDMeyers wrote:When you reverse contributions, make sure you have the same date, check or cash, fund number, etc. and the amount is negative. Re: reverse contribution problem
Let me first say that I have never had a forum that provided such thorough answers is such a timely manner.
You are absolutely correct and I learned that the reversals will continue to show up on the Posted Contributions Statement, which makes sense, but drop off the Contributors Constribution Statement.
I have read and hi-lited the manual 2 going on three times and have started taking the on line courses; just to say that I am doing all that I can.
Thanks again for your help.

Most of the helpers here are #1) Christian, and inclined to help, and #2) long time users of PowerChurch. We've done everything wrong at least once, ourselves.
