Contribution Fund Error
I am traing a new assistant and did not catch when he added a new fund instead of clicking on "add" he overwrote our main pledge fund . We caught the error and changed the fund back and thought that everything was ok. Four weeks later we found out that though all contributions from that week forward were fine but all contributions prior to that date had been changed to the wrong fund. None of our accounting data were affected since he had not changed the credit account only the number and name of the fund. Other than returning to a backed up date prior to the error and reentering the data is there any other soulution that you could suggest.
Re: Contribution Fund Error
I'm assuming that he renumbered the fund? If you're using v11, you can go to Contribution -> Reassign -> Reassign a fund number and move all those old entries to the original fund.Ginny wrote:I am traing a new assistant and did not catch when he added a new fund instead of clicking on "add" he overwrote our main pledge fund . Say he renamed 01 to 99, you can then reassign 99 to 01.
I'm not sure if v10 has this same function, I don't have my other computer with that version on it here.

I am using V9 but have planned to upgrade to V11 I assume that I will then be able to make the fix
Re: Contribution Fund Error
I just checked v10 (I don't have a v9 setup anymore), and it has a Reassign Fund function, if v9 does not (and I'm assuming since you couldn't find it, it doesn't) then upgrading to v11 will allow you to do the fix.Ginny wrote:I am using V9 but have planned to upgrade to V11 I assume that I will then be able to make the fix

Re: Contribution Fund Error
I just looked at my copy of V9 and there is no option to reassign the fund number in that version. Once the upgrade to V11 is made the reassign can be done as you assumed.

Re: Contribution Fund Error
In version 9, you just need to go to Maintain List of Contribution Funds and change the fund number on the screen. In version 10.4, we changed the fund number field so that it is read only. To change the fund number you then use the reassign option on the contributions menu.
