Magtek MICR Mini Wedge
Our check reader drive band broke and i had purchased another one a while back. I remember having to change the format to 3100 on the other one and i can't seem to do it on this "new" one. I've tried everything i know how, but even the MICRbase software from Magtek can't talk to the wedge. it keeps saying "keyboard port not open". When i scan a check, it reads, but puts it in the format T1213456787T1000361595724U3099. My secretary is reaaaalllly wanting this reader to work again!!! Again, this is wedge going through the keyboard, NOT a USB.

22520001. sorry, i got so engrossed in the details of the question, forgot to list the P/N. I did this a long time ago when i bought the first one that went belly up. i just can't remember how to get the "format" into the check reader. i've tried several programs including the one on the Magtek website, but as i said before, the software can't seem to "open the keyboard connection".

bump this topic. i still need this reader and my Contribution entry folks have been typing in envelope numbers for months now! Any help would be appreciated. Really don't want to pay almost $300 for a reader.

Re: Magtek MICR Mini Wedge
Have you tried contacting MagTek about it? Their MICR Base software is what we use to program every check reader that goes out the door here. We are now on the 3rd model of check reader of theirs that we have sold over the years and the MICR Base software has always worked for all of them.
