Multiple Database
I would like to find out if multiple database could be run in one application installation of the PowerChurch.
We have a Church that has about 3 satellite churches under it.
Is it possible to have different sets of database, for each of these satellite churches in the main application at the central church office?
If possible, then how do we go about it?

You would have to have three separate installations on the computer, Powerchurch is not setup to change databases.samaniyeb wrote:I would like to find out if multiple database could be run in one application installation of the PowerChurch.

What you need to do is install powerchurch to three (or four if you central church is to be covered) separate directories. Using the install CD, when the setup program asks you f or the installation directory, you can change it to something like:
C:\Powerchurch\Mainchurch for the main church
C:\Powerchurch\Satellite1 (or 2 or 3) for each separate satellite
You would also have to create 3 or 4 separate icons
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response.
I understand the installation approach, that you explained.
We shall use that approach.

Re: Multiple Database
It is important to note that while this installation method will allow you to have multiple PowerChurch Plus databases on your computer, the license agreement only allows for a single organization to use the software. You technically can have multiple installations to track multiple on-site organizations, like one for church and one for daycare, but three separate church locations, with separate membership, contributions, and/or accounting databases are, in reality, three separate organizations and would require three separate licenses of the software.
If there are ever questions about licensing restrictions, we recommend giving us a call or sending an e-mail with the specifics of your situation.

Re: Multiple Database
Does anyone know how this affects installing the maintenance releases. I am getting an error message to enter a full path for example C:\
the second copy of Power church runs fine except for when I try to update it.

They're in separate directories, right ??puregirl78 wrote:I am running power church 11
You may have to manually download the update to that directory, then run the program by opening the directory in explorer, and clicking on the MR file.

Re: Multiple Database
It did not work, it gave me the same message. We did this on a terminal, does it need to happen on the server level

That was a piece of information I could have used. Yes, ALL the updates must be applied on the server.puregirl78 wrote:Well we opened it on the server and then everything was ok on the terminal...so hopefully that is good... thankyou
