Change in pledged amount

I have a parishioner who has reduced his weekly pledge as of June 1, 2012. Am not sure how to record the change.

Do I just enter a new yearly total based on original/new pledged amounts with a date of 1/1/12-12/31/12 and designate as a yearly pledge or enter the original amount from 1/1/12 to 5/31/12 and a second line for the new pledged amount from 6/1/12 to 12/31/12 and enter the two as weekly pledges?

That's what I've done in the past. End the old pledge as of the end of May, and begin the new pledge as of June 1st.

This will then reflect to the person on their contribution statement (if you include pledge information) where they were at at the end of May, and where they are currently to the end of the year.
