Yes .. you should be able to select that from the Mailing List menu's Print Mailing Label selection.

:wall: DOH!!

I misread the question, not realizing the topic title ...

There is a way to do this by utilizing the Send Email to a Group function under Family Mailing List.
  • 1. On the Membership Menu, click on Send Email to a Group
    2. Using the Selection Criteria screen, filter out any families you may wish to exclude (non-members, deceased, etc) using the Mailing Category.
    3. Click on OK, you'll then get the Missing e-mail addresses for some people screen. This screen defaults to printing mailing labels for those families that do not have an email address
    4. Click on OK, you'll then get the standard mailing label print dialog where you can select your label criteria.
Thinking about it, this should be a filter included on the standard Print Mailing Labels function. If you would use this on a regular basis and you're not also sending out an email to those with email addresses, I'd email wishlist@powerchurch.com with the request so it can be added in any future version.

I updated my reply, I figured out a programmatic way of doing it, much much easier.

Neil,

I just ran into this same issue and found that your procedure works just fine. I will put a request on to the wish list about this for version 12. It sure would be easier to be able to make this selection right from the Print Mailing Labels function.

So Mr. Wishlist doesn't have to post here asking this question, which I know would come up:

If printing mailing labels from Family Mailing List for people with no e-mail addresses, would you need it to go through the whole routine like usual, referring back to the Personal Profile e-mails as secondary and only print labels for those who don't have a family OR personal e-mail?

Vice versa would apply to printing labels from Personal Profiles for people with no e-mail addresses. Should it look also at the family before deciding whether the person doesn't have an e-mail?

WOW!!
I am really not sure how to answer this. I can think of different situations that would apply. However I would think that the Family Mailing List should check the Personal Profiles since I would be just looking to get information to the Family. But if in the Personal Profiles I would want to be contacting each individual so I would not want to remove someone form the mailing if there was a family e-mail. But then I suppose that the family email could be the email of the person I am contacting, but then that would be my problem not yours. So I guess I can think of complications to the search no matter which way it is done depending on how well we have put data in the database. Don't know if this was any help or just muddied the water more.

I'd just use the algorithm that the mass email routine uses to find an email.
