Chart of Accounts

Post by BethAn »

I got rid of the error message in the Accounts Receivable module, but now I can't reindex. The warning says I have a problem in my Chart of Accounts. I've spoken with tech support and he told me to check the following things: Make sure everything is 7 digits, in proper category, the range of accounts is correct and every account have a fund assigned. I've done that and everything looks right to me. I did find a couple of without a Fund and one with only 6 digits and I fixed those. Still can't reindex.
I'm to the point where I may just have to go back to doing things the old way, not using this program for financial.
If anyone has anymore suggestions. I just started using the financial this month and have taken most of my time trying to set this up and get it running right.
Thanks

I'd be interested to see what your Chart of Accounts looks like. Something must still not be right with it. If you would be willing to run your Chart of Accounts report for all your funds, save it as a .PDF file, and then email it as an attached file to me I can take a look at it and see if I can figure out what the problem is. In your email, please also tell me all of the account ranges you currently have set up in your Accounting setup.

My email address is huntersaccounting@msn.com.

Don't give up on the financials just yet :)

Thanks for the offer. I think I've really made a mess of things. I'll try to get that done and off to you soon. I think I'll have one more look first, just to see if I see anything.
Thanks again.

I just decided to start over again. It was such a mess anyway. I understood the set up so much better this time and I think I got it right. I was able to reindex with no errors.
Thanks again for the offer of help.
