Prepaid 2013 pledges received in 2012

I have several folks who have submitted a pledge for 2013 but have paid the entire pledge in 2012. Since the total amount has been paid in 2012, it will be reflected in any statements for 2012 tax purposes--no issues there. My question is: how do I record their 2013 pledge in Power Church so that their pledges will be "counted" in the 2013 pledge totals but they will not be counted as in arrears because the pledge was paid in the previous year and I will not be making any payment entries for them in 2013.

When you enter the pledges (or update them) using the Maintain Pledges function, there is a block on the screen for Pledge Start Balance. Just enter the amount in there, and it will reflect that the pledge was fulfilled. It will not show any contributions against that pledge on statements for 2013.

Just enter the amount in there, and it will reflect that the pledge was fulfilled. It will not show any contributions against that pledge on statements for 2013.

I have a related question: I entered a contribution 12/31/12 and applied it toward a 2013 pledge. However, that means when I run the funds report for 2013, that amount will not show up as a pledge contribution. It also does not show up on pledge/unpledged YTD report. The only place I see it so far is on that individual's pledge summary on their contribution report. It seems it should show up somewhere as counting toward 2013 pledges...any advice?

Edit: Hmmm...I think I see it now on the end of the pledged to actual comparison report. Perhaps that is the best place to look?

It was entered in 2012, it will not show up in any report for 2013. It will show as part of the individual's pledge statement as part of a pledge fulfilled, but because it was paid in 2012, it will not show up as income, nor in any funds report.

Also, since it was entered in 2012, it would appear on the person's contributions statement for 2012, not in 2013, as they could only use it for tax purposes in the year it was given.

Aha .. I thought you were trying to find income data. Yes ... that report does list everything given toward a pledge.
