All the computers that I had networking directly to the main powerchurch computer are no longer working. The main powerchurch computer is working. This just happened within the last week or two.....cannot pinpoint exact day when they no longer worked. Internet explorer 10 was automatically downloaded on the main powerchurch computer last week and it caused Internet explorer to not work at all anymore so I uninstalled Internet explorer 10 from the powerchurch computer so they could use the Internet that way. Internet explorer then worked great.....no more issues. PTL! Is there any way that doing that uninstall of Internet explorer 10 could have caused these issues with powerchurch networking or no???? Never had an issue before with networking other computers to the main powerchurch computer. This is a first.
Or has their been a recent maintenance release done in powerchurch that has messed this up???

Thanks for any help
I've never seen a Maintenance Releases mess up an installed client/server system.
However, I'd make sure the Powerchurch directory/folder (C:\Powerchurch\ ) on the server and all directories/folders underneath are shared with FULL rights to write/change/delete. Navigate to the c:\powerchurch\pcplusxx (you didn't say which version you're using) find the NETSETUPxxx.exe program. Its located in the PCPLUS10 folder for v10, and the PCPLUS11\install or PCPLUS115\install folder for versions 11.1 or 11.5. Run that on the SERVER computer, it will reset the registry and reinstall any files that are needed for Powerchurch.
Then go to each computer, make sure that folder is properly MAPPED on the client, navigate to the proper Powerchurch directory, and run the NETSETUPxxx.exe program on that client.
It looks like this will work. But I used to be able to get a password box to come up whenever I would go into the network list of computers and when I would click on the main powerchurch computer I had it fixed that I would have to type in the password and computer name associated with the powerchurch computer. This way only that designated individual can access the powerchurch files as we do not want those files available to everyone. We want it secure. Meaning the only way to access powerchurch 11 to run net setup on another computer....we would need to type in the box that comes up a password for the powerchurch computer. Somehow that option is no longer there on the powerchurch computer.....???? Do you know the steps to make this happen? We had it setup that way......but 2 or 3 weeks ago.....that feature is no longer protecting the powerchurch computer as I call it.

You DO NOT want to put any restrictions on that directory, Powerchurch has its own built-in permissions that should be used to control access to the data and various modules in the program. As long as you have setup user passwords and permissions to Powerchurch, your data is secure.
As is shown on that link I listed above, and in the Powerchurch manual:
"Set the sharing properties for the parent directory (default is C:\Powerchurch) with FULL control, allowing network uses to change files on the host computer or server."
Doing this any other way will cause errors, and administrative headaches.
The restrictions would not be on the PC directory but on the network powerchurch computer....I'm looking to password that whole computer from people on the network...then once they get into the password end computer, they will have access to PC files. Understand or no? If anyone knows how to do this, I would appreciate the steps to get it done. . It's the way it was 3 weeks ago and it's been working that way just fine for years.

In effect, you're locking the Powerchurch directory as well. When you share the Powerchurch directory, users will NOT HAVE ACCESS to anything else on the computer, only the Powerchurch program files and data. If they try to access anything else they will be asked for a userid and password.
You are adding a step that does not need to be accomplished. What are you worried about, someone accessing the data files OUTSIDE of Powerchurch ?? They would need a copy of Access with a Foxpro driver in order to open any data file.
In any case, what you want to do is a standard Windows administrator function, not knowing which version of windows you're using, I can't direct you to the proper instructions on the Microsoft.com site.
Thanks. I'll try the Microsoft site. I will not be locking powerchurch...it will be shared. Just hard to say what I mean in typing. LOL. I'll figure it out.
