Question on Overlapping Payroll Periods
Has anyone seen if there's any adverse impact to any of the Payroll reports if some of the paychecks posted in the Payroll Module have overlapping payroll periods? For example, say an employee is paid weekly. For week 1 the payroll period recorded on the check is from July 7 to July 13 and the check is dated July 19. For week 2 the payroll period recorded on the check is July 10 to July 20 and the check is dated July 26. So there is an overlap of 4 days on the second check in this example. I did some testing and the only adverse impact I can see is that you will see the overlap if you reprint both paystubs. But other than that I could not find where there were any adverse impacts. There is no edit to warn you that there is an overlapping pay period when recording the payroll so just want to make sure that if this occurs that it isn't causing problems elsewhere in the Payroll Module.

Re: Question on Overlapping Payroll Periods
The only thing the payroll period is used for is to calculate the number of employees for the 941 report. If the overlap occurred on the period that includes the 13th of the month, the employee would not be counted twice.
