Posting contributions to 2 checking accounts
Can you post contributions to 2 checking accounts in one fund or do you need to have a separate fund for each checking account to which to post contributions? I have fund 01 but have some contributions that need to be posted to checking account 01-1110-000 and some that need to be posted to checking account 01-1120-000. I have Contribution Funds assigned to certain income accounts and to checking account 01-1110-000 and I have other Contribution Funds assigned to other income accounts and checking account 01-1120-000. The Contribution program will allow me to enter information for Contribution Funds related to both checking accounts but I cannot confirm the entries will be made to the correct checking accounts by looking at the Unposted Contributions Report or the Bank Deposit Slip, Unposted Contrib Report. Thanks for the help. PWN

The program will assign the amounts to the checking accounts setup under Contribution Fund Setup. You can verify this by looking at the Unposted Transactions in Funds Accounting that are created when you Post Contributions.FPC Lancaster wrote:Can you post contributions to 2 checking accounts in one fund or do you need to have a separate fund for each checking account to which to post contributions? The Contributions module, as you have seen, will not split out the Bank Deposit slip however.

Re: Posting contributions to 2 checking accounts
Thanks, NeilZ. I made a backup of my information, then posted the contributions and saw the amounts entered were debited to each of the separate checking accounts. It would be great if the Unposted Contributions Report had a total for each checking account being debited. Thanks for the help, FPC Lancaster.

If you think it would be helpful (and I can see it being so), send a request to "wishlist@powerchurch.com" outlining what you would like to see for the Unposted Contributions Report, as well as the Bank Deposit Slip.FPC Lancaster wrote:Thanks, NeilZ. Re: Posting contributions to 2 checking accounts
Neil gave you the right information, there is not a way currently to preview what bank account a contribution is going to be deposited before posting in contributions.
Just so I can understand better your situation, how are the accounts separated? Is it possible that one check/payment would be split between the two deposits?
I've had customers setup multiple bank accounts to deposit to, but they run into problems when a person gives one check that splits the deposit. In this case it is easier to deposit all money into one checking account and then transfer money to the other account.
I've been considering a change in contributions that could make bank reconciliation easier, but would make it harder if someone is depositing contributions into 2 different checking accounts. So I have been looking to see why people are depositing to 2 different accounts rather than transferring money after the deposit is processed.
