networking with Windows 8, PC+ Ver. 11.5

Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

networking with Windows 8, PC+ Ver. 11.5

Post by old lutheran »

I am running PC+ version 11.5 on a network with computers running Windows 8. Everything was working fine but one of the workstation computers needed to be refreshed and when it came back up I was unable to network to the PowerChurch Plus folder to reinstall PC+ on that computer. I can see the folder but when I try to map the network drive I get an error message saying I don't have permission to access that file. I checked on the server computer and it shows that everything is shared and that the computer I'm using has permission to read and write to it. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this networking problem?

This is more a Windows issue.

1. Check to make sure that the computer is still setup for the same network group as the rest of the computers on the network.

2. If it is still setup for the workgroup (or whatever Win8 calls it, i forget), then if you use a antivirus/firewall program, check to see if that network is setup as a 'safe' network for file sharing.

Let us know what happens.
