Group emails

Post by MikeKeller »

How would a PowerChurch user add his/her name to a group email so that a copy of the email is sent to the user's regular email account. A copy of the "sent" email is often required for file reference or if it needs to be re-sent to a recipient who had incorrect email address in PowerChurch. Ideas?

Follow up question: I can preview the list of group email recipients before the message is sent. Could an edit function be added so that I could add the sender's email address to the bottom of the list?

If you have a 'dummy' member setup to account for loose plate offerings assigned to envelope 999, as many do, add the church office's email address to that member profile and have it setup to get bulk emails.

Its possible, but wouldn't it be easier to add a BCC (blind carbon copy) block to the email through the system. This would eliminate having to 'edit' the list which is generated within the program.

So that when you're creating the email subject and body, you have a block above the subject where you can add a BCC email address.

Neil... we have a 999 record setup but it is cumbersome to work with when dealing with selected Activities & Skills. I like your idea of adding a bcc: line to the system group email form. Much more functional. Do you think we can get the Developers interested...PowerChurch?

There is a report that will give you this. Go to Membership >Personal Profiles > Reports Personal Profiles> E-mail Directory.

This will give you a report of everyone with an email address.

You can also go to the same menu and select Profiles without E-mail address to get a list of those who do not have one.
