Type of Checks
Currently we have Manual checks, I write out each bill I pay. I have been asked to start printing out the checks. What do I need to do? Does anyone know what type of check I need to order? Will I need new software? I thought it was as simple as ordering different checks? Can someone help me out? I've never had to set this up before. Thanks!
Re: Type of Checks
Go to the PowerChurch website, click on "Products" then "Compatible Products". Scroll down to "Business Forms and click on "Dynamic Systems". That will take you to the website to order checks that are compatible with PowerChurch. Click on the left menu "Checks" then "PowerChurch Checks". There are three types, choose any type that you want. We use the Top Check. In the PowerChurch software, click on FIle > Preferences > Custom Check layot and choose the type of check you ordered
From the Accounts Payable Module now instead of using "manual checks" use "Maintain Open Invoices" Add and save your invoices. When you are ready to print checks, select "Print Computer Generated Checks", select the invoices to pay. The very next screen will tell you how many checks to place in the printer, and ask for the beginning check number. Once you press "OK" the checks will print.

Re: Type of Checks
If you are a Costco member, go to www.costco.com They have business checks that will work with Powerchurch and are about 1/2 of the cost of Dynamic Systems.
Re: Type of Checks
I am looking to purchase checks for printing as well. Which Software maker did you select on costo.com to purchase the checks?
Re: Type of Checks
Go to Costco.com and then go to Services then Business Stationery or just use this link
http://www.costco.com/services.html?cm_ ... _-Services
You will get a popup from Costco that it is taking you off of their site to the site where they subcontract this service out. Once you put in your check info, it stays there and makes it even easier to reorder in the future.

Re: Type of Checks
The top checks for QuickBooks then QuickBooks Pro 2006 and later look close to the same layout although I have not used these checks (I order mine from Dynamic Systems).
You can print a sample check and if the printed lines are not exactly where they should be, you can move the lines into position by editing the custom layout.
