Help section fails on Powerchurch 11.55

Post by tampatreasurer »

I can't get Help to display information on a help topic when I search. Is there any way to get a standalone copy of the manual to place on my computer idependent of the program itself?

Well, there is the printed manual, and the built-in help. That's it. Frankly, they're exactly the same. What exactly are you looking for, or what is not showing?

The help file is called pcplus115.chm and is accessible from outside the program, if you wanted to put a copy on your desktop.

The help file will load and allow me to find topics but when I try to display the information it won't bring anything up in the help screen. This happens both from inside the program and if I access the file outside of the program. Any ideas?

Windows has network security settings that prevent those CHM files from being displayed from across a network connection.

The way that PowerChurch does the network install, a local copy of the CHM file will be sitting on your local computer. It sounds like that network install process may not have been done correctly:

In any case, copying that CHM file down to your local computer should resolve your issue.
