Backup using Task Scheduler.

Post by F12Mahon »

I'm using PC+ version 11.1 on a windows VISTA desktop.

In PC I can create backups. I've read through multiple threads about setting up Task Scheduler to perform backups. I've tried to set it up but I cannot find the file pcbackup. The PowerChurch folder is on the c drive. The subflolder is pcpluss11. It is not on a network. Does the fact we were upgraded from 11 to 11.1 make a difference? I have an 11.1 CD but my dvd drive quit. :-(

What do I do next?

The program file should be in C:\POWERCHURCH\PCPLUS111 (I'm not sure if there ever was a v11.0 ...).

You will be looking for the file named PCBACKUP111 .

I've looked, It isn't there! I'll do a search again. I'll be getting a new dvd drive this weekend.

Don't worry about the number, just look for the PCBACKUP part of the name.

I was surfing around the PowerChurch site and ran across this under new features for v11.5 .

Other features

Save and recall e-mail templates
Toggle between visual e-mail editor and HTML code
Automated backups possible now using Windows Scheduled Tasks

That explains why I couldn't find the backup command file for v11.1!

Oh bother ... forgot that was added in v11.5. Well, there are a bunch of new items in v11.55, may be worth the upgrade cost.

The Knowledgebase under the Support menu on the main website has many such tutorials. A search on automatic backups brought up this article:

https://www.powerchurch.com/support/438 ... -fall-2014

the newsletter does have an article on setting up the Task Scheduler to do the backup.

I guess I should have looked on the actual site first...I am accustom to cheap programs that only have user support forums! Thanks again!
